Internship Opportunities
Looking for a Rewarding Internship?
We will start accepting applications for our Spring Internship (January - June 2024) on November 1st, 2023. This is a paid Internship for a local college student, or recent graduate, with an interest in biology, wildlife, environmental education, or related majors and careers.
Hours
20 variable hours per week, Saturdays, Sundays, and some evenings
Responsibilities
Our paid interns assist with the Center’s nature-based programs for children and adults, including school and library programs, evening lectures, trail hikes, evening turtle walks, and special events. Our interns are also expected to contribute to the care, maintenance, and handling of our resident wildlife, working with and training new volunteers, visitor services, exhibit maintenance, administrative work, gift shop assistance, and working with U.S. Fish & Wildlife Refuge staff on special projects.
The Hobe Sound Nature Center, Inc., is a private, non-profit organization, located at the Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge in southern Martin County.
